On The Young and the Restless, April 8, Cane makes it clear that the time for forgiveness has passed. He’s refusing to back down from his aggressive stance. Cane left Phyllis stunned by declaring that the fallout from his actions was already permanent. He had no intention of reversing course.

Key Takeaways

  • Cane asserts that the legal and personal bridges have already burned down beyond repair.
  • He maintains his leverage over Phyllis by refusing to retract his previous warnings.
  • Cane shifts away from his usual charm and embraces his role as Phyllis’s most dangerous adversary.

Phyllis Gets Paranoid By Cane

In the previous episode, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) asked Cane (Billy Flynn) who he was getting revenge against next. But he was distracted by Lily (Christel Khalil), who was in conversation with Malcolm (Shemar Moore), who returned with a secret. Cane stared at her after their awkward confrontation.

Phyllis tried to get Cane’s attention again. She repeated her last question, but Cane wanted to be left alone. Then, she grew softer as she suggested that she would keep his secret to herself.

Soon enough, Phyllis made Cane’s situation about her. She mused that everyone was jealous of her because she’s back on top. Phyllis complained that no one tried to understand her.

Cane tried to leave, but failed. Phyllis noticed that his attention was on Lily again. She wanted to know if she was the target of his latest revenge plot. Cane demanded that she stop pressing him.

Who’s Involved in Cane’s Revenge Plot?

Cane told Phyllis that he doesn’t want anything from her anymore. The damage is already done. Any connection that he has with her is a trap. All Phyllis cares about is manipulating people.

Phyllis wanted to know what she could do for him that she hadn’t done already. But Cane gently reminded her that she got everything she wanted. She knows he could build her more, but that’s over now.

Cane got up to leave. Phyllis looked worried about their conversation. She felt that she was Enemy #1 on his list. He already made it clear to her that her concern arrived too late.

As he left the room, he delivered one final blow. He grew accustomed to buying his way out of his troubles. But his respect and cooperation were no longer for sale. He walked out without looking back.

Cane had his eyes and heart fixated on Lily, who wanted nothing to do with him. Phyllis was left alone with the realization that once and for all, she had no further moves left to play.
