Billy Abbott’s Best Young and the Restless Revenge on Adam: Move On

Billy Abbott and Adam Newman constantly remain at war on The Young and the Restless. Ever since Adam caused Delia Abbott’s death, Billy worked to bring down his nemesis. However, if Billy truly wants revenge on Adam, here’s what he should do.

Young and the Restless: Billy’s Neverending Quest

It feels almost like a song as old as time — Billy (Jason Thompson) allows his life to be ruled by his quest for vengeance against Adam (Mark Grossman). Time and time again, the younger Abbott son just knew he had the goods to put Adam away once and for all. However, no matter how strong he felt his position, Billy never managed to best Adam for very long.

For years now, Billy has spent much of his time trying to destroy his nemesis. It’s to the point where Adam actually seems to enjoy watching it, perhaps because a mutual hatred of “Billy Boy” gave Adam something to bond with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about. Instead of hurting Adam, Billy’s quest seems to feed him and make him more powerful.

Even Delia’s mother, Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson), seems to have finally reached a shaky truce with the man who caused her daughter’s death. However, once again, Young and the Restless has focused on the fact that Billy simply can’t do it.

Billy’s Best Revenge

For now, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) seems to support Billy’s plan even though she really should know better. This is a manifestation of Billy’s addictive personality. Instead of gambling, Billy focused his addiction on a war with Adam. However, we predict if he continues on this path, warring with the younger Newman will eventually lead to the demise of his relationship with Lily.

As long as Billy continues to war with Adam, Adam controls Billy. Instead, Billy needs to get actual therapy and remove Adam from his focus. The absolute best revenge Billy could get on Adam is to make Adam no longer relevant in his life. Unfortunately, Adam also feeds off Billy, and if he lost that, he’d lose his bonding with Victor and lose the sense of superiority he gets from consistently besting Billy. It’s time for Billy to truly heal and move on from his destructive behavior.
