Beth Maitland is scheduled to make another Genoa City visit as Traci on The Young and the Restless, and it couldn’t come at a better time.
The Abbott family is in shambles ever since Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis’ affair was exposed on The Young and the Restless. It subsequently destroyed Jack and Phyllis’ marriage and put the two brothers at odds.
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) hasn’t been much help with helping the trio make amends, focusing instead on pushing Jack to get Phyllis out of his life. Maybe Traci can work her magic and put the crumbled clan back together again.
Welcome Back Beth (and Traci)
The vast majority of fans–a staggering 89%–are thrilled that Maitland is resurfacing as Traci. Things are a mess in the Abbott family, and you think the only who can get the clan back on track is Traci. She’ll be able to talk some sense into Billy and, hopefully, get Jack on a path where he’ll eventually be able forgive his brother. And, if Traci has any time left to spare, maybe she can help start the reconciliation process between Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Jack.
Who Cares?
Some 6% of you don’t really care about Maitland’s return. You find the rest of the Abbotts far more interesting. At this point, you only see Traci as a day player, who pops up for family gatherings and holidays and has no real effect on the Genoa City drama.

Who Knows?
The remaining 5% of you aren’t sure how you feel about Maitland heading back to town. You’ll reserve judgement until you see what the storyline plans are for her character. If she’s just there for Thanksgiving dinner, her return will be kind of kind of pointless. But if she’s back to counsel estranged brothers Jack (Peter Bergman) and Billy, her visit could be interesting.
