3 Young and the Restless Characters Who Should Return in 2025

The Young and the Restless characters come and go in Genoa City. When someone leaves the Wisconsin town, it doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. Y&R surprised fans this year with unexpected character returns. As 2025 nears, here are a few familiar faces we’d love to see.

Genoa City’s Newest Detective

The Genoa City police department needs more help, with Paul (Doug Davidson) retired and Chance’s (Conner Floyd) questionable detective skills. Who better to clean up the crime than Ronan Malloy (Jeff Branson)?

Ronan is Nina’s (Tricia Cast) and Chance’s half-brother. He was a central character on Y&R from 2010 to 2012. While the detective did a great job protecting Genoa City, his personal life was messy because of failed romances with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).

Ronan’s return would give Genoa City another detective and cause conflict with Chance. As for Ronan’s love life, he could rekindle his romance with Phyllis or find love with another woman, maybe Sharon (Sharon Case), or Summer (Allison Lanier).

Mom’s Back

One character who is long overdue for a return is Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams). The Genoa City doctor is a fan favorite who left the show in 2005 after 15 years. Although Olivia is busy with her work for Doctors Without Borders, she has returned several times for family events.

Olivia’s son Nate (Sean Dominic) lives in Genoa City, but she hasn’t visited him yet. It’s time for mom and son to reunite, and now is the perfect time. Nate discovered he has a half-brother Damian, courtesy of his late father, Nathan (Nathan Purdee). Olivia’s return will offer Nate guidance as he accepts his new sibling. Plus, Olivia and Amy (Valarie Pettiford) will have much to discuss regarding their history with Nathan.

A Newman Return

Sharon is going through a difficult time as she faces prison for Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder. While her daughters Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Faith (Reylynn Caster) are there to offer support, one person is missing. Her son.

Noah (Rory Gibson) is in London but keeps in contact with his mom. He knows about her current troubles and offers to come home, but Sharon refuses. She wants Noah to focus on his life instead of worrying about her. It’s time he started worrying and stopped listening.

Noah should disobey his mother’s orders and return to Genoa City. With Noah back home, Sharon will have one more person in her corner. Plus, Sharon and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) kids all being together could lead to a possible Shick reunion.
