Days of our Lives actress Arianne Zucker isn’t a doctor — nor does she play one on TV. However, the multiple Daytime Emmy-nominee, along with off-screen leading man, Shawn Christian, who played Daniel Jonas in Salem, have a life-coaching business that can help you lead your best life. It makes Zucker an ideal candidate for this week’s installment of Wellness Wednesday. Soap Hub chatted with Zucker about the steps people can take to feel more fulfilled.
Nicole Walker has attempted to add some stability to her life by tying the knot with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). However, Zucker would be the first to tell her character that finding true peace comes from within. To that end, she and Christian have expanded their life-coaching company.
Soap Hub: What’s new with Aloha Life Coaching?
Arianne Zucker: We’re now creating private retreats for our clients. We’re also building on the website information about four retreats that people can sign up for. They’re going to take place in Los Angeles, Tennessee, Lake Tahoe, and North Carolina. You can also hire us privately. We’ll create a retreat based on your needs.
We like to coach physically through outdoor adventures, as well as having one-on-one sitdowns with clients. [It’s beneficial] when you do it in an environment where you can really open your mind and focus. It creates new thoughts in your mind, and you’re not affected by your regular environment.
Soap Hub: How would you describe what you do?
Arianne Zucker: We’re not therapists or licensed to prescribe anything, but we’re here for the person who is ready to make a choice. You can’t really force a person to make a change in their life. It can only happen when they’re willing and ready. We start people off first on what their desires are. We ask where do they see themselves now and where do they see themselves going?
Soap Hub: People walk around with a lot of baggage.
Arianne Zucker: Yes. Everyone has different fears and anxieties. We help people create a life filled with passion and purpose — through their eyes. They actually lead the way all the time. We’re just here to help them get there.
Soap Hub: How much work is involved and what’s a reasonable expectation as to when people might expect to see change?
Arianne Zucker: It’s a lot of work. It’s not something you can do over one or two sessions if you really want to get somewhere and you really want to move and change where you are in life. It’s about changing your day-to-day habits from ones that most of us go running back to because they feel safe. And it’s also about creating a new belief system because our belief system is created by our parents, teachers, and workplace environments. Change is easier said than done — that’s for sure.
Soap Hub: Do you work on physical well-being as well as mental and spiritual?
Arianne Zucker: Yes. Everything starts with your thoughts. When you start shifting your thought process then people start to believe that your feelings come first. We have a tendency to put ourselves down over things. You can constantly judge yourself and wonder who is doing the same thing.
Once we start helping with the thought process and creating confidence and who people are in the moment, we begin a health plan. But really, it’s about the mindset first. When it comes to diet or nutrition plans, it’s not about taking away the foods you love to eat. It’s about how you approach your life. When your heart and mind are healthy, you may be surprised how much weight you lose — or you may not lose it, but you’ll feel amazing inside. It’s never too late to become the person you dream about being. We call it ‘creative life-coaching’ because you’re creating every day of your life.
