Soap Hub Travel Tuesday: Y&R’s Conner Floyd Enjoys ‘Truman Show’ Village

On The Young and the Restless, Chance Chancellor and Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor are trying to find their groove together, and it may be time for them to take a trip together. As for actor Conner Floyd, he has a special place he loves to go to most years. He chatted with Soap Hub about his travel experiences for the latest installment of Travel Tuesday.

Conner Floyd Enjoys Dreamy Vacations

The Chance Chancellor actor has one place he’d love to travel to soon, but so far, he’s never been able to go. “I would kill to go to Italy. Kill,” Floyd exclaimed. “I’ve never been to Europe. There are a lot of places I’d like to go over there. Greece would be at the top of that list…Italy. But I think Italy is my number one. I want to go over there and eat some Italian food. I want to just pig out.”

Although he hasn’t been able to take his dream trip yet, Floyd has had some dreamy vacations over the past several years. “The Caribbean was awesome. I went down to Turks and Caicos. That’s probably my favorite place I’ve ever been, but I was like a freshman in high school, so it’s been a long, long time.”

The ‘Truman Show’ Connection

Conner Floyd also enjoys traveling within driving distance to an idyllic seaside village with a fun late-1990s movie tie-in. “I think recently, my favorite place that I’ve been is Seaside, Florida. Me and my family go every year…we skipped this year…we went last year, and it was awesome,” he explained. “We take a big family road trip down there. We hop in the car; drive from Texas. I love it there. The city’s great…I’ve got all my people there with me too. We make like a good little vacation out of it.”

If you ever find yourself making plans to visit Seaside, Florida, Floyd had some great tips for what to do while you’re there.

“You’ve got to stay in WaterColor [Inn], or in Seaside, they’ve got a little village there. I don’t know if you’ve seen ‘The Truman Show’ [which was filmed in Seaside]. There’s a perfect-looking city, and everything’s bright,” the actor explained. “It’s beautiful, and it’s right there on the ocean. I’d [advise people] to stay in the village or WaterColor, it’s right down the way.”

Conner Floyd enjoys staying active during his traveling, but he doesn’t often follow a strict itinerary during his rest and relaxation time. “Get a bike because you can just bike around or skateboard. I cruise around on my skateboard while I’m there.”

Floyd even had a great recommendation for where to eat in Seaside. “Go to Pickles,” he advised. “Pickles is this little bar/restaurant right there in the village. They’ve got this real cool thing. They’ll give you shots, but you put it down with pickle juice. And they have good pickles.”
