In a surprise move, The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) has cast a new Thorne and chose not to bring back Winsor Harmon.
General Hospital star Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax) has been hired to play the part of Eric’s firstborn son.
According to TV Insider, Rademacher is set to make his B&B debut in mid-November.
“Fourne”
Viewers learned that Winsor Harmon, who attended the show’s fan event in August, tweeted over the weekend that he’d had a conversation with Bradley Bell, the show’s head writer and executive producer. Bell informed Harmon that he was recasting the role. (See Harmon’s tweet below.)
A “Thorne” In His Side
Rademacher originally came to B&B’s attention for the short-term role of the Forrester estate manager who will be played by Francisco San Martin (ex-Dario, Days of Our Lives).
According to TV Insider, Rademacher was told that B&B wanted him for the role of Thorne. The actor said he hasn’t spoken to his new boss about his storyline, but that he has been reading up on the Brooke/Thorne relationship. Perhaps the Forrester man Brooke will turn to (now that her marriage to Bill is on the rocks) will be Thorne?
The Brooke/Thorne relationship has a special place in B&B history. When Stephanie learned of Brooke’s romantic relationship with her second son, she snapped and attacked Brooke. Those scenes helped secure a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for Stephanie’s portrayer Susan Flannery!
Rademacher noted to TV Insider that this was the first time he was taking over a role that was previously played by someone else.
“I said to my wife, ‘Wow, I feel kind of bad about this.’ I mean, I know it’s the way things go in daytime, but this is a new experience for me…I hope the fans aren’t too upset about this.”
