There’s no doubt that The Bold and the Beautiful’s Quinn Fuller Forrester, as played by Rena Sofer, has done some pretty terrible things in her time all in the name of making herself happy — and making her son, Wyatt Spencer, happy.

Rena Sofer Makes Us Feel For Quinn

After all, kidnapping Liam Spencer and letting him believe they were a married couple named Adam and Eve was definitely not one of her best moves. However, thanks to the vulnerability and tenacity Sofer infuses into her character, it’s hard to really hate Quinn.

Never let us forget the way Quinn once was, a woman not above fantasizing about violence when she thought Katie Logan (Heather Tom) would disrupt her marriage and not above pushing Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) off a cliff.

But, she drove those Katie fantasies away because she had Eric Forrester (John McCook) and wanted to be worthy of his love. She tried to change everything about herself for Eric, but Sofer would still make us see shades of the old Quinn shine through. Of course, watching her fight the old Quinn has been half the fun.

For the last year or so, the old Quinn seems to have disappeared completely as she has tried to pay penance for cheating on Eric with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) by being the ideal wife. But, now that Eric’s secret affair with Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) is being blown wide open, we will see old Quinn and new, vengeful, seething, but also heartbroken and confused and that’s all because of soap vet Sofer.

The actress has been making us feel for her spitfire characters since 1988 when she started playing Rockey McKenzie on Loving and then took her talents to General Hospital as the original Lois Cerullo. In 2013, she began bringing Quinn to life and let us get to know a character who is at turns exasperating, a little bit crazy, but somehow also endearing. That’s not an easy feat, but Sofer pulls it off with ease.
