Why Ridge and Brooke Splitting Might be Good For Bold and the Beautiful

Brooke’s been playing with fire since New Year’s Eve on The Bold and the Beautiful. She not only kissed Deacon and spent the night with him, but she also opted to keep it a secret from her husband, Ridge. Now that the truth is coming out, it could cause a rift in their marriage, but that might not be a bad thing.

The Bold and the Beautiful Couples Apart

Conflict is the essence of daytime drama, and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) haven’t had a major obstacle in their lives in a while. His non-marriage to Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) in Las Vegas was exposed fairly quickly.

Most of the parties involved were so darn civil about the whole thing. Really, Shauna! You were so vulnerable about the whole thing, it made it hard for us to dislike you! Now, though, Ridge and Brooke are headed for a big impasse.

I Told You/I Didn’t Tell You

Ridge told Brooke that Deacon Sharpe’s (Sean Kanan) presence was only going to lead to bad news. She not only didn’t listen to him, but then she lied to Ridge by not telling him what really happened after her and Deacon’s drunken smooch and sleepover on New Year’s Eve.

Ridge will be furious with Brooke, not for falling off the wagon but for lying to him about what happened after. He once walked out on her before over text messages exchanged between Deacon and Brooke. He could do far worse over this situation.

The Bold and the Beautiful Unforgettable Romance

If that happens, the fun part will be watching Brooke and Ridge find their way back to one another. That could take a while. Ridge could drift back into a union with Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen). Brooke might very well pick up with Deacon again if she were to become a single woman. Let’s face it, there has always been something between them.

Life Begins At Thirty…Five

The Bold and the Beautiful is set to turn 35 this year. Brooke and Ridge’s love story has been a part of the program’s fabric all these years. By splitting Ridge and Brooke up, B&B can get viewers invested in their journey all over again.

Ridge might feel differently once he discovers Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) set all of this in motion by getting Brooke drunk. Once Ridge calms down, he may realize that Brooke is the only woman for him. And didn’t Ridge get drunk and become involved with Shauna even though they didn’t legally tie the knot? Ridge should realize that he, too, is capable of mistakes. If Brooke forgave him then, perhaps, he’ll find a way to forgive her.
