For more than a decade on The Bold and the Beautiful, Hope Logan Spencer has felt threatened by her on-again/off-again stepsister Steffy Forrester Finnegan when it comes to holding onto Liam Spencer.
The Bold and the Beautiful: What Does Hope Have To Fear?
Some of the threats that Hope (Annika Noelle) has felt have been for very good reason, but those reasons should be very long gone at this point, yet Hope proved this past week that she’s more insecure in her relationship with Liam (Scott Clifton) than ever.
Yes, when Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) first set her eyes on Liam, she didn’t care that Hope wanted him or that Liam wanted Hope for that matter. But Liam never wanted either one of them for long as he waffled back and forth between the two women for years. It was Steffy who finally gave up, took that silly black and white portrait down from her wall, and told Liam so long because she found a man who would love her and only her.
Even when both Steffy and Hope gave Liam baby daughters within the same year, he chose to be with Hope and that says a lot, but Hope can’t be confident that he will always stay with her. Instead, as soon as she learned Steffy awoke from her gunshot wound-induced coma a widow who had no memory of her most recent husband, Hope went on high alert and feared a woman in a hospital bed who could barely get two words out of her mouth just hours earlier.
Hope Logan Spencer Needs Some Tact…And A Spine
Hope couldn’t even wait for Steffy’s doctors to fully assess her mental state before she crept into Steffy’s hospital room and tried to get her to remember the fact that her family is much bigger than she believes.
Yes, she has Kelly, but what about Hayes? Hope was bursting to tell Steffy she had a son but we’re surprised she somehow held back and only dropped hints to Steffy that there’s more to life than she remembers, which only served to confuse the hospital-bound woman.
What was Hope’s hurry? Did Liam give her any indication that he would stray from her or do anything but just go along with Steffy’s delusions until a doctor had better advice?
Is Liam even that much of a prize that Hope had to possibly give Steffy a nervous breakdown just after she was shot and watched her real husband die as she laid her head on his bloody chest? Apparently, he is to Hope and Hope can have him. If only she were confident enough in herself and in her marriage that she didn’t have to jump every time she hears the name Steffy.
