Remember when back in the early 1970s soaps were 30 minutes in length? The Bold and the Beautiful is a throwback to those days as the only half-hour daytime serial. There are pros and cons to B&B’s unique format.
Bold and the Beautiful — Time After Time
Bold and the Beautiful has stayed half an hour since its inception. Sure, there’s been talk over the years about expanding to 60 minutes, but it hasn’t occurred. As a result, not all characters get the screen time fans would like to see them have. Soap Hub asked B&B fans which character they’d like to see start to catch fire on the front burner! Find out the results.
Queen Steffy
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) came in last with your votes, scoring only 10%. Why did B&B’s two-time Daytime Emmy winner score so low? Probably because it appears that Steffy already has story. She’s involved in everyone’s lives and just became Douglas’s guardian of choice. But those who voted for Steffy would like to see her in her own saga — not supporting other people’s tales.
Bold and the Beautiful — Ridge Forrester
The character of Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) is synonymous with Bold and the Beautiful. Viewers were stunned that both Taylor (Krista Allen) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) told Ridge they didn’t want him. That’s cool. But how about we see more of Ridge so that we can find out what he’s up to? About 17% of you want to find out. Maybe if Ridge were to show a romantic interest, we’d see Taylor and Brooke’s friendship will be forgotten faster than you can say ‘Unforgettable.’
Eric Forrester — B&B’s Patriarch
About 36% of you (which is ironically the amount of Forrester Creations stock Eric owns) would like to see Eric Forrester (John McCook) have some storyline. Maybe Quinn (either Rena Sofer or someone new in the role) could come back to town to stir up trouble for her former love? It’d be great to see the B&B mainstay be more of a regular presence on the show. Like Ridge and Brooke, Eric is synonymous with Bold and the Beautiful.
Dial ‘Z’ for Zende
The rest of you, in fact, that majority of you, 37%, would like to see Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) take center stage. We get that his designs couldn’t be up to snuff so that Thomas could try to walk through the doors (literally) at Forrester Creations.
But, c’mon! Zende is a great designer! He should be at Forrester in a coveted position. How about we find out for sure what is his relationship with Paris (Diamond White), who is another underused character? Also, we’ve never learned why Zende and Nicole (Reign Edwards) broke up. Explaining why could give Zende the air time his fans want to see.
