Veteran Soap Actress Adrienne Frantz Stars in Always A Bride

Las Vegas is the destination for accidental weddings as fans of The Bold and the Beautiful found out this year courtesy of Shauna (Denise Richards) and Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) surprise wedding. It’s also a premise for a movie starring Adrienne Frantz, who played Amber on the half-hour soap as well as on The Young and the Restless.

Adrienne Frantz Takes On A New Role

Frantz appears as Claire in Always A Bride, an UPTV movie in which Kellie Martin (ER) plays a woman named Jordan, who marries famous Hollywood actor Matt Swift (Ethan Erickson; ex-J Chamberlain, Guiding Light) while celebrating her bachelorette party. Jordan has to extricate herself from this quickie Vegas union so that she can walk down the aisle for real with her fiancé, Peter (Bradley Snedeker), the man she really loves.

Or does she? As events unfold, Jordan starts to find herself falling for Matt while seeing Peter’s true colors. Check out the video clip in the tweet below to get a sneak peek preview of Always A Bride.

By the way, if this movie sounds familiar, it’s because it originally debuted back in 2012 with the title I Married Who? The cast also includes Bess Armstrong (Switched at Birth; One Tree Hill), Timothy Bottoms (The Paper Chase), Erin Gray (Silver Spoons), and Daphne Duplaix (ex-Rachel, One Life to Live).

During her run as Amber, Frantz often imbued her character with a trace of comedy, which was fitting as her antics were often incredulous. When Amber gave birth to little Rosie in 2011, she wasn’t sure if Liam (Scott Clifton) or Oliver (Zack Conroy) was the father of her darling newborn daughter. It turned out that Marcus Forrester (Texas Battle) was the pop!

Viewers couldn’t help but root for Amber as she’d try to talk her way out of various jams. The Daytime Emmy-winning Frantz has dramatic chops, too, of course. Amber’s heartbreak over losing her first baby, Rick’s (Jacob Young) son, was powerful as was her later confession to Rick (then Justin Torkildsen) that their child had died.

As Rosie is about 8 years old in real time, that would mean she could be a teenager courtesy of SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome). In real-life, Frantz and her husband Scott Bailey (ex-Sandy, Guiding Light) welcomed a son, Lion Michael Bailey, on June 19 of this year. As soaps are an ideal work schedule for moms, perhaps Frantz will be making a return to daytime in the future? Always A Bride airs tonight at 7 p.m. on UPTV.
