Soap operas have a way of reeling us in but sometimes they accidentally drop the ball. The Bold and the Beautiful is no different. Here are three storylines that began hard and heavy but fizzled out of existence.
Bold and the Beautiful: Drink Up, Brooke
Remember not too long ago (but long enough) when Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) decided to play a little game with Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and toy with her juice after Brooke’s constant put-downs of her marriage to Eric? Quinn slipped some top-tier liquor into Brooke’s bottle and watched as she gulped it down.
While the plan to trigger Brooke’s alcoholism didn’t work, it should not have been forgotten. This would actually give Brooke a reason to be bitter on her own behalf instead of someone else’s. Revealing this awful truth could kick their war into high gear and add some fuel to this raging fire.
B&B: Drugging Liam
Oh, how quickly everyone forgot that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) almost caused his sister to get pregnant with Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) third child. He tried, he really, really did. He even drugged Liam to get that man’s mojo going, hoping to lure him away from the woman Thomas wanted — Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).
Sure, Thomas had a brain tumor at the time but is that really an excuse? It’s time for him to come clean, fess up, face his lumps like a man, and truly move forward with everyone. How can he expect trust while he’s keeping this big secret?
Bold and the Beautiful: Emma Who?
We don’t mean to throw Thomas under the bus but we need to talk about Emma Barber (Nia Sioux). Sure, Thomas didn’t kill her (she was going to blab the Baby Beth Is Alive secret), but he sure did watch her die and didn’t call for help. In fact, he made sure she was good and dead before driving off and going on his merry way.
Will he ever pay for standing there and doing nothing? Much like Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), he may not get jail time but a strong slap on the wrist would suffice. Hell, Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) had that man locked in a cage, and Emma’s death wasn’t even brought up. It’s time we address this skeleton in Thomas’s closet.
