The Young and the Restless Star Hunter King Brings Summer to The Bold and the Beautiful

It’s January but The Bold and the Beautiful is going to start to feel like Summer! Hunter King, who plays Summer on The Young and the Restless, is crossing over to the half-hour soap to get the scoop on new rival Sally Spectra.

Hunter King Crosses Over

TV Insider reports that King will appear as Summer on BB starting the week of January 11. There, she’ll encounter Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Additionally, BB characters Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Flo (Katrina Bowden) are going to crossover to YR. Will they encounter Sally (Courtney Hope)?

Reportedly, there will be additional crossovers to be revealed on-screen. BB debuted in 1987, but it wasn’t until 1991 that a mention was made that the world of the 30-minute drama also existed in the universe inhabited by the folks on YR. What established this?

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Macy (Bobbie Eakes) shared with Felicia (Colleen Dion) that she had gotten her bathing suit at “Fenmore’s West.” Fenmore’s, of course, being the department store owned by Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) on YR.

In 1992, the two shows became officially intertwined when Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), on the lam from the law, relocated to Los Angeles and got a job as a nurse at Forrester Creations. Over the years, there have been many crossovers. Amber (Adrienne Frantz) looked up Lauren on YR after she left BB just as Sally did late last year.

Why do BB characters flock to Lauren when they migrate to Genoa City? Lauren herself spent some years on BB when she moved to Los Angeles and hung with the Spectra gang. Her owning Fenmore’s department store made for an organic pairing with the Forresters and other fashion families on BB.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bill Spencer makes his way to YR as Diamont spent many years on the show as Brad Carlton before meeting an icy end when he saved Noah Newman (then Kevin Schmidt) from drowning in a frozen late.
