The Forrester, Logan, and Spencer clans are never at a loss when it comes to love. The three families have mixed it up to create some unforgettable pairings on The Bold and the Beautiful over the years.
Love and romance have shown themselves in so many beautiful and varying ways in Los Angeles these last few decades. Here’s a look back at 10 of the show’s most memorable couples.
1. Stephanie and Eric
Despite their love and admiration for one another, Stephanie (Susan Flannery) and Eric (John McCook) had a turbulent relationship. While Stephanie had a penchant for controlling every aspect of their lives, Eric had a wandering eye that led to a few affairs. Yet, he was by Stephanie’s side when she succumbed to cancer in 2012.
2. Ridge and Brooke
On again, off again, on again… You get the drill. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) profess to be each other’s destiny, despite their numerous romantic dalliances over the years. Yet, the couple who first locked eyes at a Forrester party back in 1987 always seem to find their way back to each other and have made several walks down the aisle to prove it.
3. Bill and Katie
In Katie (Heather Tom), Bill (Don Diamont) found a woman who could not only challenge him but also inspire him to be a better man. It was a perfect match, until Brooke got into the mix, tearing her sister’s marriage apart. Nevertheless, Katie and Bill were able to overcome and reconcile a few times much to the delight of their son, Will.
4. Liam and Hope
Although they were friends first, Liam (Scott Clifton) was quickly smitten with Hope (Annika Noelle), the sweet, virtuous girl-next-door type. While Bill, Steffy, Thomas, and others have tried to undermine their love and numerous attempts to marry over the years, the pair ultimately prevailed and are finally living happily together with their baby daughter, Beth, and adopted son, Douglas.
5. Liam and Steffy
Yes, it’s possible to have two great loves of your life on The Bold and the Beautiful. Just ask Liam. When he hasn’t been pursuing Hope, he’s been romancing the sexy Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Their coupling has always been fun, playful, and carefree, yet with an undercurrent of real love that’s produced daughter, Kelly.
6. Ridge and Taylor
After the passing of his first wife Caroline, Ridge continued counseling with Taylor (Hunter Tylo). As she coaxed him out of his deep depression, they started dating. The couple’s chemistry was intense and led to love, marriage, and three children. However, Ridge’s pull toward Brooke ultimately took its toll on their union.
7. Ridge and Caroline
By the time Ridge and Caroline (Joanna Johnson) finally realized their deep love and survived Thorne and Brooke’s attempts to separate them, it was too late. Caroline was diagnosed with leukemia and told she only had months to live. A devastated Ridge gifted his wife with a special bracelet and charms, symbolizing the many milestones they’d never get to celebrate together and their eternal love.
8. Rick and Maya
It was love at first sight for Rick (Jacob Young), when he met Maya (Karla Mosley), an intriguing ex-con with the voice of an angel. The pair faced enormous challenges, from Caroline’s (Linsey Godfrey) early machinations to break them up to Maya ultimately revealing she was transgender. However, they endured, wed, and had a child by surrogate, before mysteriously splitting up in 2018.
9. Bill and Brooke
Their union was tainted from the beginning. After all, Bill was wed to Brooke’s sister, Katie, when they began their affair. However, their attraction couldn’t be controlled, especially after Brooke accidentally walked in on her “stallion” in the nude. The duo’s on and off love saga has been filled with passion and led to one marriage… so far.
10. Eric and Quinn
Psychotic bad girl Quinn (Rena Sofer) underwent a complete metamorphosis after she began sharing secret kisses with Eric. Before either of them could categorize what was happening between them, they were in deep passionate love. Eric’s family tried their hardest to sabotage the twosome, but they married despite their objections and were blissfully happy until Quinn’s scheming got out of control.
