Throughout soap opera history there have been lovable ingenues who grow into strong leading ladies. On The Bold and the Beautiful, that certainly describes Katie Logan played by multiple Daytime Emmy-winner Heather Tom!
The Bold and the Beautiful: Teen Angst
The teen years can often be the hardest. Despite Katie dealing with a father who walked out on the family and battling acne, the young woman was a good daughter, sister, student, and friend. She did her best to keep a cheery disposition. Katie fantasized about dancing with a handsome young man, who looked past her flaws.
Family Reunion
Katie had a crush on Rocco and thought that he loved her when she found a ring in his jacket pocket, but the jewelry was intended for Katie’s sister, Donna. Katie’s mood improved when her absent father, Steven, returned to the family. Katie moved to San Francisco for a while with her brother, Storm, returning occasionally for Brooke’s weddings.
A New Katie
Katie started making her presence known more regularly when she came home for Donna and Thorne Forrester’s wedding. The commitment was called off after Katie learned that Donna was only marrying Thorne as payback because Stephanie had hurt their sister Brooke. Next, Katie accepted a job in the public relations department at Forrester.
Heart Stopper
Storm, who had protected Katie for so many years, accidentally shot her when the two were arguing over Storm shooting Stephanie. Knowing she needed a heart transplant to save her life, Storm ended his – so Katie could have his heart and live. Nick Marone helped Katie through her recovery and she fell in love with him. Katie miscarried Nick’s baby and then called off their upcoming wedding.
Dollars And Sense
Next, Katie fell for media mogul Bill Spencer, Jr. Bill had some rough edges, but Katie humanized him. Bill and Katie quickly married and, in a power play, he took over Forrester Creations and made her CEO!
Katie soon stepped down from her role and was happy when Bill sold the company back to the Forresters. Katie encouraged Bill to bond with his newly discovered son, Liam. But she walked out on him after Bill tried to dispose of Amber, who claimed to be pregnant with Liam’s son.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Affairs Of The Heart
Katie had a heart attack upon learning Bill was going to leave her for Steffy. Things got worse when Bill locked her up on a tower after Katie learned of Bill’s manipulations in Steffy and Liam’s lives. Next, Katie gave birth to Bill’s son, Will.

Suffering from postpartum depression, Katie urged Bill and Brooke to become a couple. Bill and Brooke (who were not suffering from depression) went ahead with Katie’s suggestion, which infuriated her, rightly so, after she regained her full faculties.
Power Play
Katie publicly blasted Brooke and Bill for their betrayal and then, with sister-in-law Karen’s aid, took control of Spencer Publications. She fired Bill! After Bill almost died, Katie signed papers giving him back control of his empire.
Next, Katie developed feelings for Ridge, Brooke’s longtime love/on-again/off-again husband. Katie remarried Bill but turned on him again after he published an exposé on Forrester transgender model Maya Avant.
Waite For It
Katie started drinking after overhearing Brooke tell Bill he’d always be her great love. After blasting the two of them, Katie split from Bill again. After developing a brief crush on Eric, Katie fell for Bill’s son Wyatt and they were headed for marriage – until Wyatt spied her locking lips with Thorne. It was too bad because Katie and Wyatt were all about having fun and not taking things too seriously.
Thorne In Her Side
Katie’s marriage to Thorne was brief, but during their time together she fought Bill for custody of Will and won. She soon acquiesced and let Bill see his son whenever he wanted.
Katie and Thorne’s union was unexpected. Thorne woke up one day, realizing the marriage was done impulsively and called it off. Katie was shocked, and quickly grew to realize he made the right call.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Where There’s A Bill
Katie tested Bill’s loyalty when their romance got back on track and he passed her exam. They reunited and were happy until Katie fell ill due to kidney failure. In a shocking move, Katie received a kidney from family newcomer/pariah Flo Fulton, the daughter of the late Storm. Katie is relieved that she’ll be around to raise her son Will as she tries to keep Bill on the straight and narrow.
