The Doctor Is In: Vincent Irizarry Debuts On The Bold And The Beautiful

As previously reported, Vincent Irizarry is joining The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. Jordan Armstrong. And, based on recent developments, he’s arriving none too soon!

Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is definitely in need of some medical aid following his fall at the end of last week’s episode following his confrontation with Hope (Annika Noelle) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). And, Irizarry will be the doc tending to the injured (and deranged) young man.

The actor is excited to be joining the soap and took to Instagram this weekend to announce his first airdate — Monday, August 26.

Irizarry made his debut on CBS Daytime 35 years ago this year in 1984 when he landed the role of Lujack on Guiding Light. What started out as a three-day role turned into a contract role.

After the producers and writers saw what Irizarry was bringing to the screen, they expanded the part of Lujack, making him the long-lost son of Alexandra Spaulding (Beverlee McKinsey).

He played the role till the end of 1985, which earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Leading Man in a Drama Series. Irizarry returned to GL in 1991 as Lujack’s twin, Nick McHenry.

His other soaps include Santa Barbara, All My Children, The Young and the Restless, and Days of Our Lives. In 2009, Irizarry won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. David Hayward on AMC.

In fact, many fans have wanted Hayward to return to ABC soaps as David and romance Anna Devane on General Hospital. But, it looks like BB has won the Irizarry prize for now. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
