The Bold and the Beautiful’s Eric Needs to Deliver a Loud ‘Butt Out’

There’s concern and then there’s meddling – intrusive inexcusable interference. Ridge and Brooke have repeatedly crossed that line when it comes to Eric and his marriage to Quinn on The Bold and the Beautiful. That’s why Eric needs to deliver a loud “butt out” to both of them.

A Wise Man on The Bold and the Beautiful

Eric Forrester is a man of smarts and wisdom. He co-founded Forrester Creations with his late wife, Stephanie (Susan Flannery), and has seen it grow into a prestigious and profitable fashion house. If he can run a multi-million dollar business, surely he can run his own life.

He’s quite competent in making his own personal choices and decisions regarding his wife, Quinn Fuller Forrester. It’s high time Eric (John McCook) delivers that message loud and clear with a resounding, “butt out,” to the constantly interfering Ridge Forrester and Brooke Logan Forrester.

Butting In

The couple gives new meaning to the word “buttinsky.” They’re obsessed with Eric’s love life and constantly judging and chastising Quinn (Rena Sofer). Their disapproving reaction to Eric’s announcement that he was reconciling with his wife in spite of her affair with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) was appalling.

While Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) certainly don’t have to like Quinn, they do need to learn to accept her and respect Eric’s choice to be with her. And, most importantly, they need to keep their unsolicited opinions about Quinn to themselves.

Nobody’s Perfect on The Bold and the Beautiful

Obviously, Quinn has a well-checkered past, but she’s clearly changed since marrying Eric. Yes, she’s made a couple of big slip-ups, but who hasn’t? And one thing remains constant: Quinn’s deep abiding love for Eric. That was never made more clear than when she opted to stand by Eric’s side while he battles erectile dysfunction, fully willing to suppress her sexual needs to support her husband.

Judge Me Not

Ridge and Brooke have certainly made their share of huge mistakes over the years, especially when it comes to relationships. Think Ridge’s flings with Caroline Spencer Forrester (Linsey Godfrey) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom), and Brooke’s affairs with Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) to name a few.

Who are they to dole out love life advice to Eric or cast judgment on Quinn? Ridge and Brooke need to stop throwing stones and head home to their glass house. A “butt out” from Eric could be just the thing to push them on their way.
