Brooke’s giving Steffy a hard time in light of the fashion wars at Forrester Creations on The Bold and the Beautiful. But Steffy doesn’t know how easy she has it! Brooke’s not nearly as tough on her as she could be!
If anyone on this soap knows what it’s like to have an adversary, it’s Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) — and her biggest rival on the show was Steffy’s grandmother, the late Stephanie (Susan Flannery).
Their feud began in the show’s early days. Stephanie took an instant dislike of Brooke. First, she didn’t care for Brooke going after her son Ridge (then Ronn Moss; now, Thorsten Kaye).
Second, Steph grew to dislike Brooke even more after she found out that her mother Beth (Nancy Burnett) was having an affair with Steph’s estranged hubby Eric (John McCook).
Things got worse when Eric romanced Brooke after Ridge dumped her. Steph burst into the Logan living room to blast Brooke for trapping Eric into a relationship. The Forrester matriarch fought and fought but eventually lost Eric to Brooke.
It was bad enough when Brooke dumped Eric, but then, after things didn’t work out for her and Ridge again, Brooke began an affair with Thorne (then Winsor Harmon; now, Ingo Rademacher).
This pushed Stephanie off the edge. She drove up to the Forrester cabin in Big Bear and nearly killed Brooke!

There were more clashes between the two women. Steph couldn’t separate maintaining her own happiness and destroying Brooke’s life — one had to include the other!
Ridge and Brooke were happily wed at one point, but then Taylor (Hunter Tylo) came back from the dead. Steph faked a heart attack so that Ridge would dump Brooke and be with Taylor.
After her machinations were exposed, Eric walked out on Steph, telling Brooke along the way he’d always be there for her. That was like sticking a knife in Stephanie’s heart.
Alas, it was cancer that did her in, but before she died in Brooke’s arms, the two women made peace.
