The old adage “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” is likely what Ridge was thinking when he asked Thorne to be his best man on The Bold and the Beautiful. But does the groom have reason to worry?
Many Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) weddings have failed either due to them being illegal (Taylor’s alive!) or them being interrupted. Might this one be called off when the officiator asks if anyone has an objection to speak now or forever hold their peace?
Ridge is confident that his wedding to Brooke will go off without a hitch. If he weren’t he’d suggest an elopement so that no one would be there to interfere.
Thorne (Ingo Rademacher), however, doesn’t think that Ridge deserves Brooke. He’s let her down way too many times. Ridge even went so far as to try and seduce Brooke while she was involved with Thorne to prove to Brooke that she didn’t really love him.
Thorne might not interrupt the wedding ceremony, and he may feel he does not have to. After all, the last time Ridge and Brooke split up it was over a text message involving Deacon (Sean Kanan), Hope’s (Annika Noelle) father! How secure can their union be if such a relatively minor incident can bust up a marriage?
Ridge and Brooke’s marriage is likely to go through this time. Their last attempt failed after Brooke saw Ridge kissing Quinn (Rena Sofer). The show’s not likely to frustrate “Bridge” fans again by having their reunion not happen.
But if Ridge succumbs to his feelings for Quinn — or if he feels he has to remove her from his father Eric’s (John McCook) life — then Brooke could once again be headed not just for heartbreak, but the single life.
If that happens, you can be that Thorne will be there to help Brooke pick up the pieces.
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
