The Bold and the Beautiful family is in mourning following the sudden and tragic death of Alley Mills’s (Pam) husband, Orson Bean, 91, who was killed while crossing the street in Venice, CA. on Friday night. Since then, BB stars have been posting messages of support for Mills, sharing treasured memories of their beloved co-star’s husband.

An Outpouring Of Love For Alley Mills

Bean had appeared in numerous films, television dramas, and game shows throughout his lengthy career. In 2016, he popped up on BB, briefly, playing the character of Howard.

Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke), Scott Clifton (Liam), Don Diamont (Bill), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), BB Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk, and many others in the BB family shared memories of Bean on social media.

“Orson was such an amazing man! He was a brilliant actor!” posted Lang. “And sooo kind to everyone. Always so positive and energetic and charming. He still had so much life and love to give…I hope that you are happy up there dancing in heaven Orson! We will miss you. You are loved! And Alley, we are here for you always.”

“If you’re lucky in life, you meet one of those human beings so clearly operating on a different moral and intellectual level than the rest of us,” wrote Clifton. “Orson was one of them, and you knew it within seconds of shaking his hand. All my love to Alley Mills on this day of profound loss.”

“I so enjoyed every opportunity to chat with this man,” said Diamont. “He was so engaging, brilliant, funny, and warm. My heart breaks for our dear Alley. Every time I saw her I would ask, ‘How’s my hero?’ She couldn’t talk about her husband without smiling.”

“We lost a GREAT one last night,” wrote Wood. “Orson Bean was a magnificent man. Authentic, kind, always put a smile on my face. Please keep our dear friend Alley Mills in your prayers tonight. This is heartbreaking.”

“There will never be another person quite like Orson Bean,” wrote Kasprzyk. “His personality was larger than life, and his smile lit up the darkest corners of the room. I’m fortunate to have become his friend and it meant the world to me when he would compliment my work or give me career advice…I will miss you Orson. Rest easy.”

It is incredibly sad and shocking to hear what happened to Orson Bean. He was walking across the street last night and was struck by a car. So devastating! My heart goes out to his wife, Alley Mills, and their family. Orson was such an amazing man! He was a brilliant actor! And sooo kind to everyone. Always so positive and energetic and charming. He still had so much life and love to give. We were just at the play Bad Habits 2 weeks ago laughing and enjoying both Alley’s and Orson’s amazing and funny performances. We had many laughs. I hope that you are happy up there dancing in heaven Orson! We will miss you. You are loved! And Alley, we are here for you always🙏💖🙌🏻 #orsonbean

Simply put, Orson Bean was one of a kind. A true comedic genius. My heart breaks for Orson and Alley. I’ve spent the last 24 hours in utter shock, trying to make sense of Orson’s sudden passing. There will never be another person quite like Orson Bean. His personality was larger than life, and his smile lit up the darkest corners of the room. I’m fortunate to have become his friend and it meant the world to me when he would compliment my work or give me career advice. He didn’t know this, but even before I met him, I looked up to him. I was always a fan of his work on classic gameshows and TV, especially Dr. Quinn. And when he put on his one man show, “Safe at Home,” I ended up seeing it over 10 times! Every single performance was magical. And over the course of his 90 minute show, my problems and worries melted away, and I would leave the theater with a song in my heart, feeling inspired. This is how I choose to remember Orson… someone who taught the world that it’s okay to laugh and have fun. Life is what you make of it, and to walk around depressed and sad is wasting the gift that God has given you. It’s going to take some time for me to get there, but that is the greatest gift Orson taught me, and this is how I will honor his memory. I will miss you Orson. Rest easy.
