All Deacon Sharpe needs to do to turn his life around on The Bold and the Beautiful is start taking the advice of his portrayer, actor Sean Kanan. The actor/author has some empowering words he’s passing along to his social media followers on how they can move forward in life successfully.
Sean Kanan Talks About Embracing Failure
“One of the biggest secrets to success is the ability to embrace failure,” says Sean Kanan, who returned as paroled Deacon to the B&B canvas in October. “So, we’re coming to the end of 2021 [and] like a lot of you, I [am taking] stock of the goals I’ve achieved and where I’ve fallen short.”
Kanan reiterates that individuals need to look at what hasn’t worked out in their lives in order to get to where they want to be. “You must learn to embrace failure,” he suggests. “See it as a teacher. Allow it to stoke the fires of your determination of your hunger. Don’t let it define you.”
Deacon’s already taken steps to improve his life by distancing himself from Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). He’s doing honest work cleaning floors at Il Giardino and is making inroads with his daughter Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang).
The Winners’ Circle
In making his point about staying on top of success, the actor, known for his role as Mike Barnes in Karate Kid III, borrows the line of another movie character to make his point. He cites the words of Burgess Meredith’s Mickey Goldmill, Rocky’s manager, in the Rocky films, who said to Rocky, “the worst thing that could happen to a fighter happened to you, Rock. You got civilized.”
Kanan suggests that people who want to achieve much in life stay in the fight. “Stay hungry,” he adds. “Keep grinding because life can turn on a dime — whether or not it turns in your direction or away from you depends on the hard work persistence and preparation that you put into it so don’t give up!
“Look,” Kanan concludes, “realizing your dreams can happen when you least expect it. If you want to have the things that others don’t then, you have to do the things that others won’t! Wishing you all the best. Take care.”
