The Bold and the Beautiful Star Katrina Bowden Stars In New Movie

Flo Fulton proved she was a fighter after getting conked on the head earlier this year on The Bold and the Beautiful. Now, her portrayer, Katrina Bowden, is starring in a film that has fighting as a backdrop! She stars in Born A Champion with a former actor from The Young and the Restless.

Born a Champion also stars Dennis Quaid (Far From Heaven) and Sean Patrick Flannery (ex-Sam Gibson, YR). Flannery plays Mickey Kelley, a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, who is drawn into competing in an unsanctioned MMA tournament.

In a second Instagram post, both can be seen below, Bowden shares an exclusive trailer for the film. “So proud of this one and I can’t wait for you to see it 🥊🥋 In Select Theaters and anywhere you buy or rent movies on January 22, 2021 #bornachampionmovie #mma #ufc #bjj @lionsgate @appletv @spflanery,” the actress shares.

In the film, Quaid’s character, Mason, a former military man, visits Mickey, who served in a war with his late son. “I always wanted to meet the man who carried my son off that field,” Mason tells Mickey, who, per the trailer, appears to be married to Bowden’s Layla.

Flanery’s real-life son, Charlie T. Flanery, is listed in the show’s cast as well. “What a great cast! Can’t wait! Did you film this before the Pandemic?” asked @loveontheslopes. Bowden replied: “Shot it last summer 2019.”

One poster asked Bowden if this film was an indication that she’d be exiting her daytime gig. “Congratulations!! That’s awesome. I hope we don’t lose you on The Bold and the Beautiful!!! 😍,” asked @reid0711. Bowden replied: “No! I’m staying as long as they want to have me 🤗.”

Bowden joined the show in 2018 in what could have been a short-term role as Flo was recruited by Reese (Wayne Brady) to claim that she’d given birth to a baby girl (actually, baby Beth) that he wanted to sell to Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in order to pay off some gambling debts.

Flo was on the verge of coming clean about the whole thing once she reconnected with ex-flame Wyatt (Darin Brooks), but little Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) beat her to the punch, informing everyone that Beth was alive and that Phoebe was Beth.

Flo’s father was unknown, so BB revealed that her dad was none other than Storm Logan (William deVry), making Flo a Logan. Flo was on the outs with pretty much everyone, given her duplicity but donating a kidney to Katie (Heather Tom) helped pave the way for Flo to have better relations with her new family.
