The Bold And The Beautiful Star John McCook Celebrates An Amazing Milestone!

He’s been a mainstay of The Bold and the Beautiful since day one! Now, John McCook is celebrating an amazing milestone!

The veteran daytime actor is was born on June 20, 1944 in Ventura, CA and is celebrating his birthday today.

While he’s best known to B&B fans as patriarch Eric Forrester, McCook previously appeared as Lance Prentiss on The Young and the Restless from 1976-80.

The actor also has a slew of prime time credits to his name including Family Ties, Magnum P.I. Simon & Simon, Our House, and the mini-series Tourist, on which he appeared with his wife, Laurette Spang (Battlestar Galactica).

Fans of the actor discovered earlier this year that McCook shot a role in the hit film Back to the Future, but it was edited out for space and ended up, as the saying goes, “on the cutting room floor.”

McCook was cast as patriarch Eric on B&B in 1986 (the show premiered in March 1987) and viewers learned he was far more than the patriarch looking out for his kids while arguing with his then-wife Stephanie (Susan Flannery).

Eric is one of the show’s top leading men. Over the years, he’s been paired with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), Lauren (Tracey Bregman), Quinn (Rena Sofer) and others!

In recent years, McCook has appeared on Y&R — not as Lance, but as Eric since he and Lauren have remained pals. Eric appeared on the show in 2005 as a guest at Lauren’s wedding to Michael (Christian LeBlanc).

The actor has received three nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (all for B&B’s Eric) in 2001, 2012, and 2018.

In real-life, McCook’s a dad of four — to son, Seth (with former wife Juliet Prowse), and Jake, Becky, and Molly with Laurette.
