The Bold and the Beautiful Star Heather Tom Turns Teacher During COVID-19 Crisis

Heather Tom is one of soaps’ most respected actresses. She’s known for taking on challenges and new endeavors, such as directing, and now, The Bold and the Beautiful star has taken on a new role.

Tom’s son, Zane (ex-Will), is now home due to schools being shut down in Los Angeles because of the coronavirus, so Tom has embraced a new role — her son’s school teacher as he’s learning his lessons at home now.

The actress got Zane used to the idea by introducing herself as her son’s temporary instructor. “Oh boy…” Tom posted on Instagram, “my mother was a teacher so I have always had a huge respect for what they do but omg this is hard!!! #schoolathome #homeschool #teacher #professormom #IbeforeE #singaporemath #firstgrade.”

It may be even harder than Tom thinks! “Sorry not to be rude but you spelled substitute incorrect…” posted jjg9870, referring to the photo of Tom’s wipe board that read: “School is in session! I am Mrs. Achor (your subitute (sic) teacher!) Taking the correction in good-natured stride, Tom replied: “hagagaga!! That’s amazing!!! And exactly what I’m talking about!!! The wipe board doesn’t have spell check!!”

Tom’s BB colleagues have every confidence in her that she can take on this new role with aplomb. “Zane is in excellent hands!” posted BB writer Michael Minnis. “Go sis!!!” cheered on Jennifer Gareis (Donna).

Tom joined the soap world in 1990 as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless. She exited the show in 2003 and then joined the cast of One Life to Live as Kelly Cramer from 2004-2006.

Next, Tom took over the role of the youngest Logan sibling, Katie, on BB in 2007. She’s won five Daytime Emmys over her career; two for playing Victoria, and three, including two for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, for Katie.
