Heather Tom is one of daytime’s most versatile actresses, and now the Emmy-winning star of The Bold and the Beautiful has taken on a new role. Sometimes you can find her directing, but this time she’s in a project very unlike a soap.
Later this month, Heather Tom (Katie) can be seen in the thriller film Animal Among Us, a nail-biting flick from Uncork’d Entertainment and director Jonathan Woodruff.
The story tells the tale of an unresolved case from 15 years ago when two teenage girls were murdered at Merrymaker Campgrounds. The incident was attributed to an animal attack, but audiences will discover that something horrific is still out there in the woods.
Tom plays Marilyn Bishop in the film. It also stars Larisa Oleynik (Mad Men; Hawaii Five-O; Pretty Little Liars) and Christian Oliver (Speed Racer; Saved by the Bell: The New Class) along with Erin Daniels (The L Word; Boomtown).
Animals Among Us is already an award-winning piece of art, having won the Examplar Award at the Creepy Tree Film Festival for Best Horror Film, Best Actor/Actress Performance, Best Director/Crew, and Best Horror Screenplay (Feature).
The movie also cleaned up at the Die Laughing Film Festival, earning wins for Audience Choice Award (Woodruff), Best Actor (Christian Oliver), Best Director (Woodruff), and Best Feature Film (Woodruff).
Animal Among Us is available on VOD and DVD starting Tuesday, November 19. Check out the trailer for the film above.
Meanwhile, catch Heather Tom as a recovering Katie during the day as she enjoys life with Bill after a sudden kidney transplant. (She already had a heart transplant.)
She was shocked to learn her new kidney came from Flo, the niece she never knew about until this year. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
