Don Diamont is back on The Young and the Restless today but as his character Bill Spencer from The Bold and the Beautiful — not as Brad Carlton, the role he played on YR for decades.

The characters are very different, but can you truly tell them apart? Diamont recently gave a pop quiz, reciting lines of dialogue and inviting viewers to give input in the comments section as to which quotes belonged to Bill — and which lines were uttered by Brad.

Diamont joined YR in 1985 following a run as Carlo Forenza on Days of our Lives. Brad was the Abbott family gardener who romanced Traci (Beth Maitland). The two fell in love and were married. Alas, Brad’s ex-wife, Lisa Mansfield (Lynne Harbaugh) kidnapped Brad and kept him in a cage as her prisoner. Lauren (Tracey Bregman) spied Lisa and followed her back to her home where she was keeping Brad.

Lisa captured Lauren, too, and turned on the gas in her home, trapping the two. Fortunately, Jack (Peter Bergman) rescued Brad and Lauren. Brad raced to the courthouse to stop Traci, who mistakenly believed that Brad had left her, from divorcing him. Alas, he was too late!

Brad and Traci reunited, but their second union failed, too. Brad also had relationships with Cassandra (Nina Arvesen), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and Ashley (Eileen Davidson). He met an icy end in 2009 saving Noah (then-Kevin Schmidt) from drowning in a lake.

Diamont wasn’t out of work for long. He was scooped up by The Bold and the Beautiful to play Bill Spencer, Jr., the head of Spencer Publications. Now, Diamont’s bringing Bill over to Genoa City, YR’s locale.
