Denise Richards was overseas shooting the primetime international series Glow & Darkness in Spain. In light of the coronavirus, Spain has been locked down so production has halted on the show and The Bold and the Beautiful star has returned to the United States.
Denise Richards: Life Changes
On her Instagram account, she provided not only some spectacular photos of her as her character María de Champagne but she has also professed her gratitude to everyone she worked with on the series.
“Thank you to our amazing cast & our crew that work tirelessly & harder than all of us actors,” Richards posted on social media. “Thank you our amazing writer & director #joseluismoreno for keeping everyone going & our brilliant magician #joseluisalcaine ..soon we will be up & shooting again. Until then be safe everyone sending prayers that you all are healthy & see you soon!! #glowanddarkness.”
The series tells the story of Saint Francis of Assissi and also focuses on historical characters including Pope Urban II, Leonor of Aquitaine, and Richard the Lionheart.
The production is challenging given its scope and the show is featuring some famous names in its cast, including Jane Seymour (Live & Let Die; Smallville) and Bruce Davison (X-Men).
“I can’t give you the exact budget because we’re planning three seasons, and there will be massive battles and VFX,” Jose Luis Moreno, the series director, told Variety. “But, thinking of Queens, which I think was a pretty big deal, I believe we will triple it. Of course, that’s not set in stone because we will be shooting for six months still.”
Filming is set to occur in Spain, Italy, France, Egypt, and Morocco. No word yet on when production will resume. Soap Hub will keep readers apprised of details as soon as they become available. In the meantime, watch for Richards to continue on in her role as Shauna on BB. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
