The Bold and the Beautiful Star Delon de Metz Looks Forward to International Remotes

The Bold and the Beautiful’s latest cast addition Delon de Metz, who plays Zende, has been a series regular and a guest star on other programs, but he says his experience on BB is already giving him all the feels.

Delon de Metz Has That Soapy Feeling

“It’s special,” de Metz tells Soap Hub of being part of the half-hour soap. “[Being a series regular] is something I’ve been working towards for a long time. This is among the friendliest of productions I’ve ever walked into. Everyone is really cool. They love doing the work here. I do, too.”

The actor’s fellow castmates have filled him in, he says, on the show’s international status as one of the world’s most-watched programs. “Everyone has been talking about this,” de Metz says about BB’s worldwide appeal. “I’m psyched to be able to go abroad. I’ve been told that we shoot [overseas] and the show has done fashion shows in Monte Carlo. I’d love to travel and shoot an episode in France or in Italy.” Alas, the actor understands that due to COVID-19, “it may not be in the cards for a while.”

Social-distancing has been difficult for everyone and de Metz is looking forward to a day when interacting goes back to being the norm. “My friends and I discuss this all the time,” he says, lamenting that people are not as easily able to “sit in a restaurant, embrace people when we see each other, shake hands — these are things we’ve done for years. We go out dancing, eating, all those human [interactive] elements have been shut down. I miss going to a movie theater!”

Delon de Metz recently did the next best thing by going to a drive-in to see the Christopher Nolan feature film, Tenet. “I’m a huge movie fan, but I miss going to opening night and clapping as the movie starts,” he says. “I want to see [movies] on the big screen and not listen to the sound through the radio [in my car]. It’s not the same experience.”

In addition to Italy and France, BB has also shot in Australia and Amsterdam. And, of course, the show has also taken advantage of shooting in sunny, southern California. BB has led the way in returning scripted television to production and to the airwaves implementing safety measures in a COVID-19 era.
