Actor Delon de Metz has made his daytime debut as Zende Forrester Dominguez on The Bold and the Beautiful. In the actor’s first episode, viewers learned that the character is flying solo these days, having split from wife Nicole after the two moved to Forrester International. Now, de Metz is taking a moment to mark the moment he was introduced onscreen to daytime fans.

Delon de Metz: Growing Up On Soaps

“Growing up in NYC, you’d be hard-pressed to find a household that didn’t have a soap on at least one of its screens during the daytime,” de Metz shared on Instagram. “For us, it was always the kitchen – school sick day and summer afternoon snacking would be peppered with the kind of drama I now, somehow, find myself in the middle of.

“What is this life,” he continued in his post. “I think, often, what my five-year-old sandwich-stuffing self would say if I could go back in time and tell him that, one day, he’d be on the other side of the screen. The thought of that slack-jawed expression alone makes moments like this well worth the wait.

“I’m extremely humbled to announce my entry into one of television’s longest-running dynasties, The Bold and The Beautiful,” a grateful de Metz writes. “Massive thanks to @bradleybell for making me a Forrester, to my new cast and crew-mates for showing me the ropes, and to the fans for giving me such a warm welcome. Get ready guys, Zende is back!”

The actor recently shared with Soap Hub that he did a bit of research into Zende’s history so that he could best bring the character to life. “I didn’t want to obsess,” de Metz said, “because I want to be able to put my own spin on [the character] to make sure that my own [interpretation] shows through as well.”

Time will tell how Zende’s story will unfold. We know that he went to Forrester International to enhance his career. How will that play out now that he’s back in Beverly Hills? And can someone so handsome stay single for long? Stay tuned to see what happens next. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
