The Bold and the Beautiful: Soap Hub’s Daytime Week In Review

Everybody’s got an opinion…especially where their favorite daytime drama is concerned – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of The Bold and the Beautiful’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: Week In Review

Is there a single character on this program that isn’t in some kind of a holding pattern? Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom) are at an impasse where their future is concerned. He’s sorry for betraying her, yet again, with her sister, for the umpteenth time. She’s insisting that she wants to find a man who’s going to put her first and foremost and who will serve as a role model for her son. Bill says he can be all that and more. But he’s used that argument before.

Then there’s poor, dumb, unassuming Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). He can’t figure out why his fiancée isn’t as gung ho as he is to set a wedding date…and all the while she’s out and about and making a play for one of his underlings.

And you have to feel sorry for Zende (Delon de Metz). How many times has this man said no to Zoe (Kiara Barnes) and her come-ons? If the roles were reversed, we’d be calling foul on a soap propagating sexual harassment. So, if the purpose of this storyline is to make us hate Zoe, then mission accomplished. But we digress.

The biggest group of stymied players is of course Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Liam (Scott Clifton), Finn (Tanner Novlan), and Hope (Annika Noelle). This quartet wants is to ascertain the paternity of Steffy’s baby…but they are going to have to go on wanting. At least, until Steffy’s pregnancy advances by a few weeks.

Which, by the way, Steffy should have been fully aware of. This is NOT her first trip to the “who’s the father of my baby?” rodeo. Liam was revealed to be the father of that baby, and as we discussed in our last write-up, he’ll most certainly be the father of this one as well. But only time will tell.

Just like only time will tell whether or not we’ll ever again see the likes of Eric (John McCook), Quinn (Rena Sofer), any of the extended Forrester family – we’re looking at you Felicia, Kristen, Thorne, and any and all offspring – or members of the Avant and/or Logan families.

Further BB Musings

So Carter is Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) “best friend” huh? Isn’t that a bit of an indictment of Ridge’s people skills?

Can we agree that Bill’s dissing of Wyatt’s (Darin Brooks) grape-colored ensembles has worn a bit thin? The first one was hilarious. The subsequent two or three? Not so much. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
