The Bold and the Beautiful recaps for December 13 – December 17, 2021, feature a happy homecoming, a couple in crisis, a parent/child relationship deepening, and a lovelorn ex desperate to reconnect.
Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) is heartened to see Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen); the two share a warm reunion; Taylor delights in hearing Ridge call her ‘Doc’…Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) tells Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) that Taylor has returned home; they muse about the might-have-beens had Ridge and Taylor never divorced.
Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) catch up. Katie reveals that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) is still attempting to woo her; Brooke talks about Deacon Sharpe’s (Sean Kanan) return and the resultant travails. Katie praises Brooke for encouraging the rapprochement between Deacon and Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle).
Brooke and Katie’s discussion about Hope and Deacon’s reunion stirs up memories of their own strained, then mended, relationship with their own father, Stephen Logan…Ridge confides his and Brooke’s Deacon-related troubles to Taylor; she, in turn, broaches the subject of Thomas reclaiming primary custody of Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri)…Steffy and Thomas interrupt a tender embrace between their parents…Deacon and Hope discover they both share a love of martial arts.
Hope and Deacon practice several self-defense moves. Brooke joins the duo, and enjoys the interaction despite herself…Taylor pointedly questions Thomas about Douglas’s custody arrangement…Steffy insists that her mother stay with her, rather than check into a hotel.
Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) admonished Deacon for taking a menial job Il Giardino, all in the hopes of impressing Brooke. Sheila correctly deduces that Deacon’s pleased at the rift his presence has created between Brooke and Ridge.
Taylor and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) have a proper introduction; they discuss the recent upheaval in Finn’s life, and Taylor offers to be his sounding board. Afterward, Taylor voices her ardent support of Finn and Steffy’s coupledom.
Brooke is taken aback by the news of Taylor’s resurfacing; she’s further thrown by the news that Taylor’s stay is open-ended. A tense conversation about Deacon follows, punctuated by the arrival of the subject himself.
Ridge accuses Deacon of making a play for Brooke. Deacon refutes the charge; when pressed, he admits to working as a janitor at Il Giardino…Brooke and Ridge argue about Deacon, Taylor, and whether or not Douglas’s custody should be re-evaluated.
Steffy and Taylor reminisced about the former’s protonym and discussed the inherent irony in Steffy marrying Sheila’s biological son. Taylor also praised Steffy for removing herself from Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) toxic orbit. Taylor admits that Ridge is the love of her life…Having taken his leave of Brooke, Ridge heads to the cliff house, where’s he greeted by Taylor.
