The Bold and the Beautiful recap for December 23-27, 2019 features Ridge continuing to make excuses, Zoe nursing her own obsession, Hope falling for a line, and everyone wondering about Thomas.
Whoever said everybody deserves a second chance clearly never made the acquaintance of Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) — a man who, according to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), is the walking, talking definition of a psychopath.
But according to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) everything is A-Okay. Sure, Thomas really, really loved Hope. And, sure, he had a strange way of showing it. But secret-keeping and manslaughtering, aside his son is just fine and dandy thank you very much.
In fact, Ridge is certain that Thomas isn’t even thinking about Hope any more since he is clearly moving on with Zoe (Kiara Barnes). Trouble is, Zoe is actually working for Liam (Scott Clifton) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to try and figure out if Thomas has actually boarded the train destined for mental clarity.
By the by, he has not. And Zoe doesn’t seem to be doing too well herself. How else to describe her state of mind following her confession to Hope that “Thomas fascinates me…he’s sexy and talented. He’s a risk taker.”
He is also a man who bullied her into keeping a life-altering secret that she had finally plucked up the courage to reveal and his actions led to the death of an innocent young woman — my, how quickly the obsessed forget the little details.
Luckily, we have Brooke to inject some common sense into the proceedings. Upon learning from Steffy about the plan she and Liam have devised, Brooke made a beeline for her would-be son-in-law and laid out all the possible ways that the scheme could blow up in their faces.
Chief among them, why blindly trust a woman who is a proven liar to give them the goods on a man whom she is clearly crushing on. Sadly, the sage advice entered Liam’s right ear and exited his left. He was sure that they can rely on Zoe to give an honest and unbiased opinion.
Meanwhile, Hope had actually started to sip everything’s cool with Thomas Kool-Aid. All it took to lower her defenses was to hear from her “former” tormenter that he had a very special date planned with Zoe.
As she explained to Steffy (re: a Thomas/Zoe paring), “If it really does happen, and it’s real, I can finally stop living with the constant suspicion where Thomas is concerned.” Good luck, Hope. Girl, you’re gonna need it. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
