The Bold and the Beautiful recap for November 18-22, 2019, features Hope dealing with the bad, bad thing that she did, Ridge on the warpath, and a return everybody expected.
The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Recap Highlights
While Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) busied themselves at Forrester and wondered where in the heck Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) was, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was dealing with Hope (Annika Noelle), who was enacting her own version of Lady Macbeth’s “Out Damn Spot” scene.
When Hope said that she had to tell Ridge that she dissolved his son in a vat of acid, Brooke tried to dissuade her. Which was piss poor parenting on Brooke’s part — clearly she never learned her lesson from the whole “lets cover up the fact that Rick shot Grant Chambers” debacle.
After swinging by his former place of employment, Liam (Scott Clifton) revealed that Thomas had indeed signed the forms that made Hope a legal guardian for Douglas. Ridge — who actually admitted, a few times, how bad of a parent Thomas is — tore over to Brooke’s to have a sit to with his stepdaughter.
There, he learned that Thomas had used the papers to try and coerce Hope into having sex with him and when she deflected he stashed Douglas in a cupboard and chased Hope all over the Forrester lot.
Ridge seemed to decide that the incident might give credence to Brooke and Hope’s fears about Thomas but he still wasn’t sure. After all, he has already accepted the fact that Thomas is guilty of manslaughter in Emma’s death and that fact doesn’t even phase him.
Truth, Whole Truth, and Nothing But
After spending the night and the better part of a day trying to convince Hope not to reveal Thomas’ fate, Brooke decided that SHE had to be the one to tell Ridge.
Meanwhile, Hope discovered that the rumors of Thomas’ demise were a bit premature seeing as how he walked into her bedroom looking awfully put together for a man who shouldn’t even be alive.
Turns out, the show pulled the old bait and switch trick. It wasn’t acid that Thomas landed in. No, it was a similar looking, and just a bubbly cleaning solution.
And the jokes on Hope whom Thomas told that he stayed away to prove a point: even good people make bad decisions and lie about them. Now maybe she can understand where he is coming from.
BB Weekly Musing
Who else was surprised that Brooke remembered she was a chemist? It’s been decades since she did anything with that college degree so you’d be excused if that revelation came as a shock. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
