The Bold and the Beautiful recap for February 3-7, 2020, features a villain acting in haste, a heroine’s illness used against her, nobody able to tell the truth, and much more.
Ah, the thwarted confession. It’s a plot device almost as old as the soap opera genre itself. Just when Quinn (Rena Sofer) seemed poised to confess that she spiked Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) juice with alcohol, a final jab from her rival hardened her heart.
Right before Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) could come clean about the role Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) played in her pursuit of Liam (Scott Clifton), Hope (Annika Noelle) had to go and spout off about her love for, and commitment to Douglas and her contentment at not being with a man who was going to make her choose between him and the boy.
Sally (Courtney Hope) was a millisecond away from confiding her possible illness to Wyatt (Darin Brooks) but she allowed her pride to hold her tongue. And, perhaps worst of all, the final commercial break commenced before said illness can be diagnosed by Sally’s new doctor.
Thomas: “…Moving forward we deal with Brooke together, okay?” Quinn: “You wanna team up with me?” And just like that, a new gruesome twosome is born! What havoc will they manage to wreak?
Since when does Forrester Creations have a fully stocked bar cart replete with hard liquor, gin, and vodka? Oh, right…since they decided to launch this plot point about Brooke falling off the wagon.
Wyatt: “I hate that — that I’m hurting Sally. But I can’t marry her if I’m still in love with Flo…Right?” Wyatt, Liam is NOT the person to ask for advice like this.
Wyatt: “She’s the love of my life…I mean, …she’s the most amazing person that I have ever known.” Awww, how sweet. It’s just too bad that you’ve said the exact same thing about Hope and Steffy and it’s pretty certain that you thought it about Katie (Heather Tom) too.
Quinn: “Your taste in men has improved exponentially in the last few months.” Shauna: “Has it really? I am all giddy over a man that’s still married.” Has there been another character this self-aware — and honest — on a soap, in years?
Carter: “Yea I saw you [Zoe] modeling some of the stuff. Beautiful. And I’m not just talking about the designs.” Gasp! Is BB actually thinking about giving Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) an actual storyline opposite Zoe (Kiara Barnes)? Or is it merely another red herring.
Liam: “The kiss is on me. Thomas had nothing to do with it. I have to 100% own that.” Man, the ONE time Liam is willing to take sole responsibility for one of his many screwups he isn’t even at actual fault. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
