The Bold and the Beautiful recap for January 27-31, 2020 features everybody on the canvas having an opinion — whether it’s right or not — a plot to shove an alcoholic off the wagon, and much more.

The Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights

There’s an old saying that compares opinions to derriere’s and reasons that everybody has one — and the fictional characters who populate this Los Angeles-set sudser are no different.

Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Bill (Don Diamont) all agreed (though they would be loathed to admit the fact to each other) that Liam (Scott Clifton) should dump Hope (Annika Noelle) and reunite with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Sally (Courtney Hope) was convinced that all she and Wyatt need was a break during which time he will “get his head on straight” and realize that they belong together — this in spite of the fact that he is so ready to jump Flo’s (Katrina Bowden) bones that it’s pitiful.

Hope was certain that “Liam was the one who kissed Steffy, and you can’t blame Thomas for that” – even though she’s absolutely wrong considering that her creepy ex-husband did indeed lay the groundwork for that smooch.

Bill and Brooke Just Know

Bill said he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that “Hope is never happy unless she puts herself in the middle of some unnecessary crisis” – after a quick perusal of Hope’s track record, we think the Dollar might be on to something.

What do you think? Post a comment!

And Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) said she rightfully believes that Thomas is a dangerous psychopath and that Quinn (Rena Sofer) and Shauna (Denise Richards) are out to destroy her marriage — however, in Shauna’s defense, she has all ways been upfront and honest with her opinion that Brooke is an overbearing bitch who doesn’t deserve the “majesty” that is Ridge Forrester.

B&B Musings

Since this soap tends to telegraph a plot twist with all the subtlety of a falling anvil, was anyone the least bit surprised that Quinn spiked Brooke’s drink with alcohol two episodes after the series a) referenced Brooke’s alcoholism and b) cut from a shot of Quinn starring at the liquor bottles to one showing Brooke’s teacup?

“You can’t force someone to want to be with you.” Thanks for that Flo. And now, maybe you can track Thomas down and share that little nugget with him because that young man hasn’t gotten the memo.

“Brooke is never good when she’s separated from Ridge.” Great point Eric (John McCook). Just ask Thorne, Deacon, Bridget, Whipple, Grant Chambers, Macy…well, you can’t ask Macy. She’s dead. We think.

Speaking of Eric, was anyone surprised by him insisting that Shauna needed to pack up and move out? Was his siding with Brooke inevitable and was it justified?

Which one of Bill’s Thomas-related insults tickled your funny bone the most? “Thumb sucking diaper-wearing degenerate,” or “Tommy the Sociopath”? The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
