The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 13-17, 2020, features a special week dedicated to summer escapes and summer love.
Last week, it was all about fan-favorite showdowns. This week, was a travelogue that featured some absolutely stunning beaches in places like California, Mexico, and Australia. There was fun in the sun, romance in the surf and lots and lots of drama.
Monday’s episode flashed back to a vacation down in Cabo San Lucas gone very, very wrong. Thomas (then-Adam Gregory), Hope (then-Kim Matula), Liam (Scott Clifton), and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had all taken off for the resort city but neither couple knew of the other’s presence.
When Thomas and Steffy spotted each other, they knew there would be trouble. The two of them attempted to convince their significant others to leave with them to no avail, and as soon as Liam spotted his ex, there was little doubt which woman he would have preferred to be vacationing with. Sorry, Steffy. But you just aren’t worth getting into a highspeed ATV chase.
The episode presented on Tuesday, July 14 originally aired back in 2012, and it proved the true depth of Hope and Liam’s joint stupidity, as well as latter’s fickleness. The young lovers were planning to marry (again) and all seemed to be going so well.
But when Hope was forced to cancel a previously scheduled dinner date, Liam huffed and puffed and childishly went to a club for a night of merriment with Steffy. Because nothing spells fun (or is it trouble?) like dancing the night away with your former lover and your current fiancée’s stepsister.
Another day, another spoiler in the Hope/Liam pairing. Enter Wyatt (Darin Brooks) the good looking, spiky-haired dude that Hope had initially taken a voyeuristic interest in. And since she and Liam are on the outs again, why not smooch with this virtual stranger?
Isn’t that the next logical step to take after you’ve photographed him during his shower time? If only Hope could explain away the fact that her new “friend” has the exact same necklace that Liam and Bill (Don Diamont) also sport….
Thursday’s show fast-forwarded the drama a few months and presented fans its latest “supercouple” – and we do use the term VERY loosely – Hope and Wyatt. While the two of them cavorted on a secluded beach (we have to keep our theme alive and well) Liam presumably fumed and Steffy delighted in the possibility that perhaps she could steal back Liam’s affection.
The week wrapped with a trip to the land Down Under, which had served as the setting for (one of) Steffy and Liam’s wedding(s). And if it was good enough for the two of them, it was good enough for Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (then-Thorsten Kaye).
If only Ridge could stop sniffing around Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), you know, his father’s wife. The man really had a thing about stealing the women that his father was interested in (lest anyone forget, Brooke was Eric’s second wife). The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
