William deVry played protective Storm Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful and captivated General Hospital viewers with his portrayal of Julian Jerome. Storm and Julian aren’t on our screens anymore but deVry’s fans still count the actor as a social media pal. Now, his supporters are offering support in light of a recent personal loss the actor suffered.
William deVry: Love, Josie
“Very sad news to share,” deVry posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Unexpectedly. Josie unfortunately watched her last [Montreal Canadians hockey] game with me on Thursday. Only sharing cause u guys have been such a big part of her rescue journey. ❤️ Thanks to all who loved her journey.”
The known pet advocate’s followers responded with supportive posts. “I am so sorry for your loss,” wrote Anita Adkison. “I lost one of my rescue dogs last month. She died in my arms. I know how devastated you must feel. Hugs.”
“Makes it all worth [it]. Knowing they had a good life,” deVry philosophized. Karen Powell posted: “That breaks my heart, we just lost a dog on Xmas Day so I know exactly how you feel. They are in a better place but will be in our hearts forever.” Powell added four heart emojis to her post.
Almost two years ago, deVry shared on Instagram a photo of Josie with the simple but telling caption: “adoptdontshop Living the dream. Josie,” which reminds folks that a great place to find their latest family member is through adopting at a kennel.
The actor is a bona fide soap hopper. After a brief stint on Port Charles as Tim, William deVry sunk his teeth into the meaty role of Michael Cambias on All My Children in 2003. His work on that show earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2004. He then took on the role of Storm on B&B. That part concluded after a few years when Storm sacrificed his own life so that Katie (Heather Tom), who was dying, could get her brother’s heart. The story was the focus of the episodes B&B submitted at the Daytime Emmys in 2009 to win its first statuette for Outstanding Drama Series.
Next, deVry took on the part of the presumed dead Julian Jerome on GH in 2013. He and co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) had an on-screen ill-fated romance that was as passionate as it was dysfunctional. Julian died after an epic battle with Sonny (Maurice Benard) in late 2020. Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to deVry at this difficult time.
