“Dollar” Bill Spencer has been with many women over the years on The Bold and the Beautiful. From Brooke to Donna to Quinn, he’s had many torrid love affairs. However, the one woman that may truly have been the love of his life was the one he married twice – Katie Logan. Diamont recently mused about Bill and Katie’s relationship over the years, and acting opposite her portrayer, Heather Tom.
She’s His Angel
Diamont was interviewed by Us Magazine, and refers to Tom in a special way: “As I say, she’s not Heather Tom. She’s the one and only Heather Tom.” Despite the two having ended their relationship, and Bill moving on with Poppy (Romy Park) for a time, the actor still felt that Katie was the best thing for him.
He explained that for Bill, Katie “is his conscience and she’s his angel, but he has certain ownership of her.” The actor understood that the viewpoint might not sit well with some audience members, but that’s the nature of Bill’s character. Their Dynamic is Beautiful
Diamont invented Bill’s pet name for his erstwhile wife, “my Katie.” He stated that Bill knows she could only be good for him, and was thrilled that Tom wanted to be his scene partner. He explained that when she found out he was joining the cast, she spoke with executive producer Brad Bell and told him, “I want Don Diamont.”
Because of the way Katie had changed Bill for the better, Diamont stated that they have a wonderful dynamic, and that “the greatest joy of my career to work opposite her.” He also brazenly stated that from working with Tom in the past, “I take all the credit for ending her Emmy drought and her winning three in a row after she started working with me.” Right now, both characters are single, but it’s only a matter of time before they gravitate back toward one another.
