John McCook earned his Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series last month but the celebration continued when he returned to the set of The Bold and the Beautiful. The actor was honored in an on-set ceremony that was both quite emotional and a surprise to the performer!
Previously, McCook delivered an emotional speech at the 49th Daytime Annual Emmys and also, he chatted with the press backstage after his win. B&B wanted to give its star another platform to express his feelings about his victory, so he spoke from a podium that was put up in front of the famed Forrester living room set on the show’s stage. “[F]irst day back after Emmy win…caught me off guard,” McCook posted on Instagram about the on-set gathering to honor him and his win. “So grateful.
“I have a lot of blessings in my life but very few that are as cool as this,” a clearly emotional McCook said. “My wife and my kids…they still think I’m funny…they laugh at my jokes. The biggest blessing in my life is that I get to be an actor.” The performer added he’s been working since he was 18 years old as a paid actor. “Thank God for that,” he said.
A teary McCook said that he’s not sure where else he could have gotten an Emmy except for here at B&B. “I thank you all for that.” McCook’s daughter, actress Molly McCook (Last Man Standing), saw the touching video and posted her emotional reaction. “Hey! Hey YOU! No making me cry before bed!!!! 🥹 I love you, my daddy,” she wrote. The father and daughter worked together last year in the holiday film Candy Coated Christmas.
In honor of McCook’s win, B&B had cupcakes made with the actor’s image on them! Check out John McCook’s emotional video below. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS.
