Soap Opera Casting For The Week of January 8, 2024

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

General Hospital

Two special episodes commemorating Bobbie Spencer and late actress Jacklyn Zeman are set to air on General Hospital. Ryan Carnes returns as Bobbie’s son, Dr. Lucas Jones, on Wednesday, January 10, and Thursday, January 11. The actor last appeared on the soap in 2020.

Steve Burton announced his return to the daytime serial. Watch for him to resurrect Jason Morgan in the very near future.

Mark Anthony Samuels is also back for Bobbie’s funeral services. He airs as GH nurse, Felix DuBois on Wednesday, January 10, and Thursday, January 11.

Adam Huss popped in as the MIA Nikolas Cassadine, last week. Huss was originally hired to temporarily replace Marcus Coloma in 2021. He last appeared in September 2023.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Hartley filled in for Kelly Monaco as Sam McCall too. It isn’t the first time Hartley has subbed for Monaco. The actress briefly stepped in as Sam in 2020 and 2022.

Days of our Lives

Steve Burton shot his final scenes as Salem cop Harris Michaels last December, wrapping up his one-year contract with Days of our Lives. Burton originated the character in 1988 and brought him back in season two of the Peacock special, Beyond Salem: Chapter 2, in 2022. Due to the show’s accelerated filming schedule, he’ll continue to air through the summer.

After being MIA for two months, Stacy Haiduk is finally back on screen as Kristen DiMera. She’ll appear in scenes with Eric Martsolf’s Brady on Tuesday, January 9

The Young and the Restless

Brian Gaskill joins the cast as Seth on Monday, January 8. Look for  Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to meet the Genoa City newcomer at an AA meeting. Gaskill is no stranger to daytime fans. He appeared as Rafe Kovich on Port Charles (2001 to 2003) and Bobby Warner on All My Children (1995 to 1998).

Colleen Zenk is back as vengeful Jordan on Wednesday, January 10. Look for poor Claire (Hayley Erin) to be haunted by memories of her diabolical aunt.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Adain Bradley continues to rev up the drama as Xander Avant. He’s back at The Bold and the Beautiful on Monday, January 8, and Tuesday, January 9.

Romy Park returns as Poppy Nozawa. She airs on Monday, January 8.

Naomi Matsuda pops back in as Dr. Li Finnegan too. Look for Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) mother to air on Thursday, January 11.
