Everything seemed hunky dory when Carter and Hope made up on The Bold and the Beautiful after their takeover of Forrester Creations. The two even got engaged, but when everyone believed Liam was dying of a brain tumor, he and Hope got close. But, he wasn’t dying, and now has his whole life ahead of him – a life that could include Hope. Annika Noelle opened up about the potential emotional conundrum heading her way.
Liam’s Shadow Over Carter
Noelle had a conversation with Soaps and explained how Liam (Scott Clifton) could potentially be a monkey wrench in her relationship with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). The reason is because of the history Hope has with Liam. She recalled that when the two thought their daughter, Beth, had died, “In a way, that solidifies the bond.”
She and Liam had broken up when she kissed Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), and the two divorced. However, she recently apologized for not appreciating him, especially when it looked like he was on his deathbed. “We’ll have to see if that potentially blossoms into something more,” she remarked.

Hope’s Heart at a Crossroads
However, Noelle noted that Hope is engaged to Carter and felt her character should recall that fact as well. She further explained why Liam could be a danger to her future with Carter: “She genuinely cares for and loves him, but he’s up against someone who knows Hope very well.” She stated that while the relationship with Carter is new because it’s exciting, she has history with Liam that could morph “into something different than it was before.”
Ultimately, Hope is going to have to confront her feelings and either stay with Carter, or let him down gently. “I just hope however she handles it, she does it with grace,” she explained. With the imminent return of Atkinson, her potential love triangle could turn into a quadrangle if she’s not careful.
