Bold and the Beautiful viewers who lamented the loss of Kimberlin Brown and her evil alter-ego Sheila Carter got quite a shock on today’s episode. The nine-toed psycho killer is back among the living. Brown is speaking out on her surprise return to the CBS soap she’s called home for over 30 years, on and off.
This Little Psychopath Came Home
So, it appears that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) killed not Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) but rather a plastic surgery doppelganger named Sugar (Sheila’s one-time partner in crime played by Robin Mattson, who originated the part on B&B back in 2003). Brown spoke exclusively to Deadline about her return to the CBS soap opera.
“I truly thought I was gone,” Brown said. “I gave the interviews knowing that I was gone, and I was looking forward to the next chapter in my life and what might come out of it acting wise or otherwise. I even bought property in Montana. I’m expecting a grandchild in June. My son lives there, and I’m building a home in Montana so I can be closer to my grandchild.
“I was looking to close down my home in Los Angeles that I rent for work. And thank God I got the call from Brad [Bell, executive producer/head writer] the week before I was moving out of my house in L.A.,” Brown continued. “I truly thought this was a done deal. And like I said, it was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me, and I’m just so thankful that that roller coaster is back on the uphill swing.”
Savvy soap viewers speculated that Sheila might be alive from the beginning. It’s not that her final (or should we say “final”) showdown with Steffy, which resulted in her “death,” wasn’t epic. It certainly was! But wouldn’t a final (final, final, honest-to-goodness-gracious-this-time-we-really-mean-it) send-off for Sheila have been even greater and grander? Maybe there would have been a big whodunit with past favorites like Dr. James Warwick (Ian Buchanan) returning. Or the families of Dr. Jay Garvin (Brett Stimely) or Lance (Adam Huss, Nikolas, General Hospital)?
Over the decades, Sheila has survived an inferno (on The Young and the Restless), and swallowing poison in front of the Forresters after holding them at gun point. Now, she’s cheated death once again! How will Steffy and everyone react to finding out that Sheila is among the land of the living? Stay tuned to find out!
