Lope Reunion Follows Emotional Turmoil
Hope’s (Annika Noelle) head and heart were all over the place the moment she divorced Liam (Scott Clifton). She embarked on a fiery love affair with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), fantasized about Finn (Tanner Novlan), and had a tumultuous relationship with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), which ended in an engagement.
But she left him for Liam. They were brought back together after he thought he was dying from brain cancer. It turned out to be a long con from Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech), who tried to repay her ex-husband’s gambling debts.
At the time, Liam took accountability for the hurt he caused Hope and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). In an interview with TV Insider, Clifton hoped that Lope’s reunion wasn’t rushed for the sake of nostalgia.
“But the way it was handled, it really felt like Liam and Hope were getting married in a way that was a tribute to their history rather than getting married and having to sweep their history under the rug,” Clifton explained.

Hope’s Full Circle Moment
Prior to Liam’s health crisis, he was on a journey of self-discovery. He wasn’t the only one who had to do some reflecting. Hope had to figure out who she was after their marriage ended.
Noelle noted the journey that her alter ego went through. She couldn’t find stability in her career or love life. Their respective journeys and Liam’s health crisis are ultimately what gave them a fresh start, sort of speaking.
“Now, she believes that they have done enough growing in this time apart from each other to where she feels like, ‘OK, as two adults, we can look at each other and make these promises and hopefully stick to them,'” Noelle said.
The two haven’t filmed much together in years. But it felt like talking to old friends. “We picked up right back where we left off. It really is effortless, and we have that rhythm and harmony because we have been working together now for eight years,” Noelle exclaimed.
Will Hope and Liam’s Third Marriage Last?
The third time is the charm for Hope and Liam. They have a feeling that they will be able to keep their family together this time around.
As for Noelle and Clifton, they are praying that their characters will make it stick. “I have to believe that they can. Do I believe they will? That’s a totally different question,” Clifton said.
“At the same time, this is a soap opera, so, well, light a candle and say a prayer,” Noelle added.
