While Poppy fights to prove her innocence from murder charges on The Bold and the Beautiful, actress Romy Park continues to wow fans with unrevealed talents. This time, she’s (literally) playing with fire in a display that had many fans nervous yet thrilled at the same time.
Park shared a photo of her putting a flaming stick in her mouth on her Instagram page, which was followed by a video of her doing it and dousing the flame, with the caption, “‘She had embers in her eyes, smoke in her lungs, and fire on her breath,’ e.c. Thank you @lesterthemanifester – master of fire. 🔥.” The Lester she referred to is a well-known fire dancer in the Los Angeles area.
You can totally hear co-star Don Diamont’s (Bill) words coming out of his mouth as he wrote, “You have way too much time on your hands!🔥😂,” to which she replied, “[Don Diamont] what do you mean? This was lunch! 😂.” Newcomer to B&B, Rebecca Budig (Taylor), replied, “Wait. Wait. I’m so impressed and terrified. 😂.” Laurette McCook, the wife of another castmate John McCook (Eric), joined in with, “Now you stop that!!! So many ways to tag this. 😂,” and Park sent back crying/laughing emojis.
The overall fan response ranged from fear and worry to awe and jokes, with one writing, “Katie [Heather Tom] better watch herself. This girl is on fire 🔥🤣🤣.” Even her onscreen daughter, Lisa Yamada (Luna), was nearly speechless, simply responding, “Omg.”
While one fan jokingly said that her fire eating proved her character Poppy killed Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers), another seriously speculated that Jack (Ted King) could be Luna’s real dad, and that would make sense since he used to be with her sister, Li (Naomi Matsuda). (Check out one of the many times King was Performer of the Week!)
Park shared another Instagram video of her performing fire eating, set to the tune of Queen’s enduring song, Killer Queen. She then shared a quote, “‘She didn’t fear the flames. She became the fire’ – R. Solo,” and continued by recounting her interest in fire eating: “I learned how to eat fire in 2009. Haven’t done it since 2013-ish. This time around, I was surprised how much more scared I was eating fire than even the very first time I learned.”
She continued to explain how she fought against her own self-doubt, writing, “The self [realization] of how fearful I had become over the years dawned on me. Afterwards, I reflected upon this and saw just how much I can get in my own way—in all areas of my life. I used to feel unstoppable, but gradually that feeling waned. It was the wake-up call I really needed. If the urge to eat fire again was the reason I needed to come to this [realization]—then lesson learned.”
This isn’t the first time Park has revealed her hidden talents, as she also can sing opera while doing ballet! We’re continually impressed!
