On The Bold and the Beautiful, Lisa Yamada plays a bad girl. Her persona, Luna, is out for blood. Steffy’s blood, that is. She wants to have a relationship with her father, but Steffy won’t let that happen. In her real life, Yamada wants to do good for others. She spoke out about an important cause that’s close to her heart.
Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, but taking care of one’s mental health is important any time of the year. Yamada wanted to share this vital message with her fans, so she posted a series of glam photos on Instagram that would get their attention. The first shot featured the B&B star in a brown strapless evening gown with a matching scarf. The next few shots showed Yamada at a very important red carpet event. She was glammed up for a good reason.

In her post, Yamada remarked that she “had the most special, inspiring start to Mental Health Awareness Month last thursday at the #2025NamiWLAGala with @namicommunicate 🤎.” The aspiring actress shared more to say about mental health. For Yamada, “mental health advocacy has been at the core of my beliefs for as long as I can remember.” It’s something she wants to focus on outside of acting.
Yamada continued writing, “this work is especially meaningful to me, as i’ve witnessed the effects of mental illness firsthand. a couple years ago, my therapist introduced me to NAMI and the support groups they offer to help me feel less alone in the challenges i was navigating.”

A Personal Mission
This is a personal mission for the Little Fires Everywhere star, who has also struggled with her mental health. Now, she wants to pay it forward to others, and with her new role, she’s able to. Yamada wrote, “Ever since then, their mission has become deeply personal to me, and I’m so grateful to be an ambassador for an organization that played a part in my own healing.”
