In the aftermath of Steffy firing Hope for her perceived notion that Hope was coming onto Finn, Carter swore to fight for her on The Bold and the Beautiful. Steffy’s been on the warpath lately and Carter’s not standing for her tyrannical rule, especially her hatred for Hope. Carter’s also not happy that Forrester Creations isn’t too keen on his progressive ideas for the company and he vowed to make everyone there pay. Fans were harshly critical about Carter, and his portrayer Lawrence Saint-Victor fought back on social media.

Fans React to the New Carter

B&B viewers seemed unhappy with the direction the story took, and many predicted Carter would soon be fired. Another criticized the fact that Saint-Victor is also a scriptwriter on the show, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “No coincidence then that Carter has had steamy scenes with five different female cast members since @LSaintVictor started writing for #BoldandBeautiful? Zoe [Kiara Barnes] (2020-2021), Paris [Diamond White] (2021-2022), Quinn [Rena Sofer] (2021-2022), Katie [Heather Tom] (2023-2024) and now Hope [Annika Noelle]?”

Saint-Victor held his ground and shot back with, “I don’t usually respond, but you’re calling my integrity into question. I as a writer, have no control over story or what Carter does or doesn’t do. I’ve seen a few of your ignorant remarks about me. They are insulting. You are free to post what you want, but don’t tag me.”

Fans Rushed to His Defense

Another angry B&B fan posted, “Carter’s getting on my last damn nerve. Hope was ready to gtfo of Forrester, and he wanna pull her back? Whyyyy? And he gotta fight her battles? My dude, y’all ain’t even go on a date yet! The hell is wrong with you? #Boldandbeautiful.” In the same vein, another shared, “His animosity towards the Forresters would make more sense if this were long-held resentment for not listening to him more. From what I can tell, they value his opinion and have promoted him to a high position. This plot point to prop up Hope is disgusting.”

On the other side, a fan raced to Saint-Victor’s defense writing, “You are extremely tacky tagging the actor,” and included an animated gif of someone saying, “Do better.” The critical poster claimed they apologized to Saint-Victor but he blocked them anyway, while another defender chimed in, writing, “Looks like you did it more than once. Even after you were called out by somebody else you insisted on tagging him. No wonder he blocked you. You weren’t sorry until you got called out and embarrassed.”
