Bold and the Beautiful star Katherine Kelly Lang is always in fashion as Brooke Logan. And now that Brooke is back in a power position at Forrester Creations, she’s even more in fashion! Soap Hub chatted with Lang at the Daytime Emmys about Brooke being back where she belongs.
Bold, Beautiful, and Brooke
On the topic of the Daytime Emmys, Lang reveals that she almost didn’t submit in this year’s competition (read the list of complete winners here). The actress has received a total of four nods for playing Brooke over the years (plus, a special fan couple nomination in 2002 — with Sean Kanan’s Deacon!). Lang says she feels a win for Brooke on any particular year would be an acknowledgement of her entire run of over 37 years on the half-hour show.
“I’ve always thought it was funny that after working so many shows all year long that you have to pick one or two shows and submit those to win,” Lang mused. The actress suggests that much of her work is showing Brooke’s progression and persistence and not so much the big, explosive moments that are often found on winning reels. “Yes, it should come to the point of big drama, which is great,” she points out. “But [Brooke is about] the subtle things that happen within the process.”
You’ve Got to BeLieF
Recently, B&B re-positioned Brooke back in the thick of things at Forrester Creations. The actress’s arguably most memorable storyline dates back 31 years ago to when she took over the fashion house by leveraging her ownership of the coveted BeLieF patent.
Both BeLieF and Brooke’s Bedroom line have been referenced, leading to her return to the company. “I think some people forgot or newer viewers didn’t know,” Lang says of her character’s colossal contributions to Forrester. “It’s important to point them out.” Brooke’s fashion ventures didn’t land well with the late Stephanie (Susan Flannery), but nobody could deny they were profitable.
“They made a lot of money,” Katherine Kelly Lang recalls, agreeing that one can’t argue with success!
