Jennifer Finnigan, who won three Daytime Emmys for her turn as Bridget Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, is sharing some hearting breaking news. The actress is mourning the loss of a beloved family member.
Finnigan and her husband, Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie’s), have posted on social media the loss of Silverman’s late father, Rabbi Hillel Silverman. “This man, a true legend, a father, a husband, a Rabbi, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, and a friend to so many,” Finnigan wrote. “We all called him ‘Dad’ and ‘Pop’ and ‘Saba’. He was 99 years young, still the life of the party, sharp as a tack, funny and charismatic and loving.
“We already miss him so much,” Finnigan continued. “Pop, I am damn lucky you came as a package-deal with my amazing husband. Thank you for showing me how to properly live life, by loving and living in a big, beautiful way. You went surrounded by your adoring family, peacefully and with grace and acceptance.”
“I lost a hero today,” Silverman posted on his Instagram account. “My dad. 99 years young. Such a remarkable human. Such an incredible life. Touched so many other lives. Awesome husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather…Author, scholar, teacher, spiritual leader, athlete…and proud member of the Screen Actors Guild.
“Some might remember him as the Maitre de of Maxim’s restaurant in the sequel to Weekend at Bernie’s, or the young guy who had to speak in front of the JFK Warren Commission because Jack Ruby happened to be one of his congregants….” Silverman shared. “But if you knew him, you loved him. I’ll miss you Pop. Gay Kokin Afin Yam.”
“It’s hard to imagine life without you, without your daily check-ins with Jonny, without your weekly EJ [Ella Jack] visits,” Finnigan says. “But wow, what a legacy you’ve left behind. Go have a beer up there with my dad Jack, will ya? It’s about time you two met. Love you 💔 RIP Rabbi Hillel Silverman.”
This is another tough loss for Jennifer Finnigan and Jonathan Silverman. Last year, they lost their dear pal Bob Saget, star of Full House and Fuller House. Soap Hub sends them our deepfelt condolences during this difficult time.
