Did anyone actually believe Liam was going to die from an inoperable brain tumor on The Bold and the Beautiful? The more fans observed the actions of Dr. Buckingham, the more they, and Finn, thought the whole thing could be a scam, and there was no miracle cure. It could have been just a way for the doctor to nab $1 million that Bill was more than willing to pay to save his son’s life. Whether or not Liam’s tumor was real or fake, the fans had some strong opinions about the storyline.

Medical History at Its Finest

A fan on X, formerly Twitter, posted a video clip with the scene where Bill (Don Diamont) relayed the news to everyone that Liam’s (Scott Clifton) MRI scans came back clean, and his so-called ‘inoperable’ tumor had been successfully removed. They captioned it, “#BoldandBeautiful Hallelujah it’s a miracle y’all. Medical history was made.”

One made the astute observation, “I know they do not do anything medically appropriate on this show, but aren’t they gonna test the tumor get it biopsied? To see what it was, is…Finn knows something is off.” You could almost hear another fan groaning as they commented, “Next miracle, lunatic will be alive🙄.”

A Painful Reminder

Many B&B viewers had the same reaction as another who wrote, “This is god awful and [an] insult to those who are really going through life-threatening illnesses. Do better, Bold and Beautiful.” On the positive side, one fan praised Clifton’s acting with the comment, “Scott’s reaction was a great here. Such a wonderfully joyous, relieved smile.”

The nature of the plot hit home with another viewer who stated, “This storyline felt insensitive for those of us who’ve lost loved ones to brain tumors. I know it’s a soap, but I really feel for SC. The twist didn’t resonate—just a painful reminder of my own loss of someone close to me who died of brain cancer.”

And one follower shared they were wise to the true nature of the story with, “Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy, scam complete. LOL. Easy [to] be tumor free when there was no tumor.😜🤪😝.”
